What you need to know:

  • Archbishop (rtd) Wabukala said leaders should be champions of integrity.

Kenyans have been urged to ensure peace prevails during and after the campaign period, and vote in leaders who are upright.

Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission chairman Eliud Wabukala made the call on Friday during the opening of the second Leaders Guild Conference at Tangaza University College in Nairobi.

Archbishop (rtd) Wabukala further asked Kenyans to strive to bring change, especially regarding the moral and ethical aspects.

He said they should ensure “change” is not just a word thrown around by politicians during their campaigns, but should be aimed at bringing greater benefits of integrity to society.

“With your major focus being the eventual liberation of our society from the shackles of corruption and dishonesty, you are the people who must sing the integrity song at your various places of work,” the anti-corruption agency boss said.

The theme of this year’s conference was: “Leading Change: The Challenge”.
