Nine months ago, Ms Alfine Amondi Oyengo left her Embakasi house to attend prayers at Christ Is The Answer Ministries church in Buruburu.

She had been at her mother’s house in Mwiki from December 24 and left on December 31 for her house before proceeding to Buruburu. Ms Amondi worked with Basco Paints as an engineer.

She did not communicate with any family member. At around midnight, her mother called to wish her a happy new year but her phone was switched off.

On December 3, she called her daughter’s place of work but colleagues told her she had not been seen.

The family reported the disappearance at Mwiki and Kayole police stations.

“I sent her cousins to her house but they found it locked from the outside,” she said.

They were later advised to report the case at Buruburu Police Station.

When a relatives showed Buruburu police officers Ms Amondi’s photo, they were referred to the City mortuary.

“That is where we found the body. It had head injuries,” she said.

Police officers said the body did not have identification documents.

Ms Oyengo went to her daughter’s house to look for the details and provided them to the police on January 11.

Police Spokesman George Kinoti yesterday said no suspect had been arrested but the Directorate of Criminal Investigations was helping to track the phone users.

He said action would be taken against officers found to have bungled the case.
