Speaking at Safaricom Stadium-Kasarani during the Joyful Women Organisation (JOYWO) annual conference, Mrs Kariuki called on more women to come forward and benefit from the tenders.

“We have performed poorly in terms of awarding tenders to women. We call upon them to come forward and apply for government tenders,” said the Cabinet Secretary.

She cautioned against harassment of women who compete with men saying such behaviour will not be tolerated.

“We still have a challenge for women to do business with the government and we ask them irrespective of where they come from or related to, to tap the opportunity,” said the DP.
