Somalia lawmaker survives gun attack

A member of Somalia’s Federal Parliament was Saturday morning wounded in a gun attack in Mogadishu.

Mr Mohamed Ahmed Gurhan was driving next to Bacadle, a shopping mall at Hamarweyne District in the city centre at the time of the attack.

Latest reports asserted that the attackers in a vehicle, blocked the the car in which the MP was travelling then opened fire.

The assailants then fled from the crime scene.

The MP was reportedly shot in the upper abdomen.

Hamarweyne District Abdulkadir Mohamed Abdulkadir said the MP was rushed to a hospital in the city.

The lawmaker was heading towards the Peoples’ House, which hosts the Parliament.

The federal parliament have started its 7th Assembly in this week after a break of two months.
