Dar es Salaam. The police have this morning September 21 transferred Kigoma Urban Member of Parliament Zitto Kabwe under tight security to Dodoma, where he will appear before the Parliamentary Ethics Committee.

Mr Kabwe, who is also ACT-Wazalendo party leader, is held at the Dodoma Central Police Station.

“I am at the Central Police Station and I am scheduled to appear before the Parliamentary Ethics, Powers and Privileges Committee at 5pm,” he told this paper.

He was arrested at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) on Thursday, September 20, evening after he arrived at JNIA from Kigoma.

The Kigoma Urban MP is accused of criticising Speaker of the National Assembly Job Ndugai for handing over two reports by two Parliamentary committees formed to investigate tanzanite and diamond mining before they were debated in Parliament.

He wrote on his Twitter account on Tuesday that Mr Ndugai’s performance was far behind his predecessors - Samuel Sitta and Anne Makinda.
