Al-Shabaab kill 9 recruits in Kismayu army school attack

Nine recruits were killed after a car bomb exploded inside the Somali National Army training school in Kismayu on Saturday morning.

Three African Union Mission to Somalia (Amisom) trainers were injured in the attack by Al-Shabaab militia.

According to Amisom, two terrorists who were in the vehicle with the explosives, were also killed and two of their accomplices arrested.

In a post on its Twitter page, Amisom stated: “Two suspects have been arrested; currently being interrogated by #Somalia National Security officials.”

The army training school is located at the old airport in Kismayu.
