The ICC Pretrial chamber Monday unanimously confirmed 18 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity charges against DRCongo wardlord Bosco Ntaganda.

The charges include murder and attempted murder, attacking civilians, rape, sexual slavery of civilians, pillaging, displacement of civilians, and rape, sexual slavery, enlistment and conscription of child soldiers under the age of fifteen years and using them to participate actively in hostilities among others

Prosecutors allege that Ntaganda, who handed himself in to face charges in a shock move last year, led “by negative example”, raping children and women soldiers and keeping them as sex slaves.
