Illicit brew found in Uplands hospital lab

Illicit brew was found in a laboratory at a health centre on Friday in a raid lead by Lari MP Mburu Kihangara.

The brew was found at the Uplands health centre that is located opposite the Uplands Police Station.
A woman suspected to be the owner of the brew was arrested.

She is said to have hidden the brew in the laboratory on learning of the planned raid.

In Kangemi, police failed to provide security to women who wanted to destroy illicit brew.

Youth pelted stones at the women who wanted to destroy the killer drinks estimated to be worth Sh3 million recovered from a residential house.

The women are camping at the Deputy County Commissioner office in Kangemi demanding security to enable them destroy the liquor.

The crackdown on illicit brew in ongoing in central Kenya and other parts of the country.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has directed MPs from Central Kenya to spearhead the fight against illicit brew in the region.
