GABORONE
Tickets for Ugandan comedian Anne Kansiime’s maiden show in Botswana tonight were sold out.

Kansiime arrived in Gaborone on Wednesday and begins her tour with a performance set for the New "Molapo Piazza" tonight.

The tickets were going for $22 each.

Organisers of the first show said by Thursday night only a few tickets were left at three outlets in the capital, Gaborone.

Tickets for the second show at the Thapong Visual Arts Centre on Saturday are also expected to run out before the show considering the comedian’s huge fan base in Botswana.

Friday’s event will be an open show while Saturday’s is a corporate affair.

The tickets for the corporate show are going for $55 each.

GREAT NIGHT
At the same time, award-winning Trevor Noah and Eugene Khoza of South Africa are also in the country for a Saturday show at Molapo Crossing in the capital.

Africa Netball President Tebogo Lebotse-Sebego, a comedy fan, said: “It’s unfortunate that organisers of the Noah and Kansiime shows opted for similar dates for their shows.

I love both acts and would have loved to attend both. Since I am a great supporter of women, I will go for Anne’s.”

Botswana entertainers Mandisa Mabuthoe and Rae Lyric will curtain raise for Kansiime.
