Stars, officials in Dallas for events

DALLAS

A high-powered delegation was in Dallas, Texas over the Memorial Day holiday weekend for a series of events.

A team of about 250 flew in from Nairobi and another 3,000 jetted in from different states for a series of events.

One of the major events was the Teresia Wairimu Evangelistic Ministry (TWEM) Conference from May 21 to May 24 at the DFW Sheraton Hotel in Iving. Among those who attended were Kenya's ambassador to the US Robinson Githae, Rachel Ruto; the wife of Deputy President William Ruto, and Lady Justice Martha Koome, a Court of Appeal judge.

Also in attendance were Elizabeth Kang'ethe who is the first Kenyan mayor elected in the London borough of Barking and Dagenham, and President Uhuru Kenyatta's sister Christina Kenyatta.

On the entertainment scene, Sauti Sol, Willy Paul and Uganda's Eddy Kenzo also took part in the Memorial Day weekend celebrations.
