Kenyan man killed in US fire tragedy buried

A Kenyan, who died in a fire tragedy in the United States, was buried on Saturday.

Mr Daniel Kariuki Chege was killed following an explosion that razed down a building he was sleeping in in Forest Park, about twenty miles South of Atlanta city.

A somber mood engulfed the burial ceremony attended by close family members and friends at Mt Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton, Georgia .

Earlier, a funeral service was held at Murry Brothers Funeral Home in Atlanta.

A nephew to the deceased appealed to the Kenyans in the US to reach out to help those in need.

“We struggle with a lot of issues in this country. Instead of looking down on people, let’s find a way of looking after one another” he said.

Last month, authorities said Mr Chege died following an explosion caused by gas containers stored inside the building.
