A Kenyan died on Christmas Eve months after undergoing surgery in Atlanta Georgia.

Mr Jesse Njoroge Kahora, passed away at Northside Hospital where he had been admitted after undergoing surgery in October this year.

A source at the hospital told Nation.co.ke that Mr Kahora's condition deteriorated after doctors operated on him.

"We hoped that he would be discharged in early November but that was not to be," a friend who did not wish to be named said.

Friends and relatives described the deceased as "God fearing and a worship leader at his local Church in Marietta, Georgia."

"My family and I are deeply saddened by the news of Kahora’s passing, he was a great person and will live on in our memories forever,” said one of his friend, Geoffrey Chege.

Mr Kahora lived in Sandy Springs, Georgia, and is survived by his wife, Faith Kahora.
