A hospital in the United States is looking for relatives of a Kenyan man admitted in critical condition.

A spokeswoman at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia, told the Nation on Thursday that Alfred Mugo “is critically ill and we must speak to a close relative as a matter of urgency”.

Ms Meredith Viav said the hospital had been looking for his relatives without success.

“There is a critical decision which must be made immediately but because of legal implications, this can only be done with the consent of a close family member,” she said.

Mr Mugo has been in the hospital’s intensive care unit for several days. He was living on the streets and was rushed to the facility from Franklin Road.

Another homeless Kenyan man told the Nation that Mr Mugo hails from Thogoto in the Kikuyu area in Kenya.
