Law to fight graft in private sector to be introduced, AG Githu Muigai says

Attorney-General Githu Muigai has said a new law will be introduced to fight graft in the private sector.

Prof Muigai said cases of corruption were on the rise in that sector and that stakeholders will be involved in crafting the laws.

The AG acknowledged that corruption is a major challenge in the public and private sectors and collaborative efforts are needed to fight the vice.

He said a task force set up to look into ways of fighting corruption will soon release a report on its findings and recommendations.

He was speaking at Serena Hotel, Nairobi, on Thursday at a stakeholders' forum on a new strategy on fighting corruption.
