Khalwale summoned over hate speech

Outspoken Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale has been summoned by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission to explain the speech he made during the burial of Raila Odinga’s son, Fidel.
The senator Saturday confirmed that he had been asked to appear before the Commission on Monday.
“I have been asked to appear on Monday. It is about the speech I made during Fidel’s burial,” Dr Khalwale told nation.co.ke on phone Saturday night.
NOT HONOUR
However, the senator said he will not honour the summons until the commission showed why he should not be critical of the government.
He accused the commission chaired by former House Speaker Francis Ole Kaparo of being used by the government to silence President Kenyatta’s critics.
“I will not appear. I want to be categorical that I will not be intimidated by this government of Uhuru Kenyatta which is working very hard to silence its critics.”
Dr Khalwale has sharply criticised the government over skewed appointments he has insisted favoured only two communities.
