Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua has said the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) needs to be audited to determine how much money should be allocated to it.
She said though the IEBC asked for Sh45 billion to conduct next year's general elections, the commission has been known to "exaggerate" it's budget.
Speaking at a meeting convened by the Centre for Multiparty Democracy, Ms Karua said the IEBC also had no capacity to hold party nominations.
She also urged political parties to ensure they field more women in the coming general elections so as to meet the constitutional requirements on gender rules.
Speaking at the same forum, Nyeri Woman Representative Priscilla Nyokabi asked political parties to exempt women from paying any fees when they vie for political posts.
