Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka has said that they are confident that officials of the disbanded New Ford-Kenya will get the secretary-general position in the Jubilee Party.

New Ford-Kenya is among Jubilee affiliate parties that dissolved to join the new outfit.

Speaking in Kakamega town after attending a church service, Mr Lusaka dismissed claims that the party is not marketable in the region.

“What is important for us is to talk to the people and explain to them why Jubilee is in a position to lead us where we want to go,” he said
Mr Lusaka said they did not join Jubilee to get positions, but to bring development to the locals.

Mr Lusaka who was also celebrating his 53 birthday said he was optimistic the officials who will be unveiled by President Uhuru Kenyatta soon to lead the party will represent the face of Kenya.

“We are confident that fairness will be there and New Ford-Kenya just like other parties which dissolved to form Jubilee will get its share,” he said
At the same time, a section of Ford Kenya MPs now want their party leader Moses Wetang’ula to vie for the  presidency on the party’s ticket.

According to the legislators, Cord leader Raila Odinga has shown no indication of stepping down for anybody.

Speaking in Trans Nzoia on Saturday, nominated MP Patrick Wangamati said Senator Wetang’ula should not waste time waiting for Odinga’s endorsement yet he can directly vie for the presidency on his party ticket by getting out of the Cord coalition.
“All indications are that Mr Odinga is determined to be on the ballot. Wetang’ula should not wait for this eventuality yet he has a party that can enable him achieve his dream,” said Mr Wangamati who spoke at Sikhendu Catholic church.
