Campaign trail: Where Uhuru, Raila, Ruto, others will be today

Party leaders have gone to their strongholds in renewed efforts to net as much fresh voters as possible within the 30 day registration period. Scattered all over the country, here are the itineraries of the various contestants and party leaders.

President Uhuru Kenyatta

The President is expected to be in Isiolo and Nyeri today as he drums up support for Jubilee Party and for his second term in office. He is expected to lead voter registration exercises in these areas, meet the voters and make his submission to the for the re-election of his government.

His tour comes at a time when there simmering feelings of voter apathy in Central Kenya region after it emerged that there is low voter turnout at the registration centers in his strongholds.

Cord leader Raila Odinga

Raila Odinga will be in Homa Bay today. The leader of Opposition will be meeting some of his strongest and most loyal supports as he calls on them to come out in large numbers and make his 2017 bid for State

House a reality. Mr Odinga yesterday met and addressed voters in Nyamira County where he assured voters that the Opposition has 11 million voters according to research done by the Opposition and assured them that this time he will win. It is expected that he will make similar pronouncements in Homa Bay too.

Deputy President William Ruto
The Deputy President will be travelling by road today as he meets voters and holds road-side meetings with aspirants and constituents in Bomet, Kericho and then Nandi. Known to be a fervent and robust campaigner, the DP will be making a case for Jubilee Party re-election among his core supporters. He is spearheading Rift Valley vote hunt as his co-principal, the president, works up Central Kenya and other Jubilee Party regions.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka
Kalonzo Musyoka has today commissioned almost 100 aspirants from Nyamira and Kisii on a voter registration exercise in their various regions. The Wiper leader has however not confirmed whether he will be meeting the people personally today. He was hit by rude shock on Wednesday when he found that his ID had been registered to a woman in Wajir.

ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi
The man who has been at the fore front of calling for a united Opposition and pushed for the formation of Nasa will not be meeting the people today. However, he has voter sensitization tour dubbed ‘Nasa Kura’ beginning tomorrow that will see him visit Vihiga County, Siaya County and Busia County.

FORD-KENYA leader Moses Wetang'ula
Moses Wetang'ula will be in Bungoma today. The Western Kenya point man will be meeting his constituents and aspirants from the region in an attempt to shore up the chances of Nasa acquiring as much votes as possible in the traditional Opposition stronghold.
