Amani Coalition confident of landslide victory

Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi and Justice Minister Eugene Wamalwa have expressed confidence that their Amani Coalition will emerge victorious in the forthcoming elections.

The two who were speaking on a live talk show hosted by West FM assured their supporters that they have put in place strategies to ensure they win the elections with a landslide.

“The Luhya community has the second largest number of registered voters after the Kikuyu. We are entering the race as the second best team,” said Mr Wamalwa.

Mr Musalia termed as propaganda claims that he is out to divide the Luhya community votes so that the Jubilee Alliance can sail though with ease.

“I am not a project for anyone. I am going to win the elections. If you vote for me, your vote is a democratic one. It will not be destroyed. You should be prepared to vote for me,” he said.

Mr Mudavadi said he is not seeking to be the kingpin of the Luhya community but to be the president of Kenya.

He pointed out that no single community in the country can win the elections on its own.

“We are going all over the country to ensure we consolidate our support. We want to reach every part of this country to ensure we win,” he said.

The two leaders announced that they will rollout campaigns in all the 47 counties beginning with Bungoma on Friday.

They will also address rallies in Kakamega, Busia, Vihiga and Trans Nzoia before moving to other regions.

Mr Mudavadi said all the parties under the Amani Coalition are national parties that have supporters across the country.

“UDF, New Ford Kenya, KANU and Vision Party have a presence in all the 47 counties. You can’t call them small parties,” he said.

Mr Wamalwa urged the entire Luhya community to rally behind the Amani Coalition.

“You need to support your own. He is the only Luhya presidential candidate remaining on the ballot after I dropped out,” he said.

Mudavadi assured Kenyans that his presidency will prioritise education and declared that both secondary and primary education will be free.

He pointed out that there is need to improve research in the agricultural sector by coming up with good policies which are funded by the government to improve production.

He said there is need to allocate enough funds for farming inputs to enable the farmers maximise from their farms.

He noted that there is need for Kenya to embrace modern technology to increase efficiency of its industries with an aim of reducing the cost of production.
