Deputy President William Ruto will today head to Kakamega County to preside over three fundraisers, as the Jubilee Party intensifies campaigns to win support from the region.

The DP will start off the tour at Khayega Primary School in Shinyalu constituency before heading to Ikonyero Secondary in Lurambi.

He will wrap up his tour at Shianda market in Mumias East before heading to Budalang’i for a funds drive in aid of women’s groups.

Last month, Mr Ruto presided over a funds drive for women’s groups in Matungu.

On Thursday, Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali, the Jubilee pointman in Kakamega, said the DP would address various issues affecting development projects being implemented by the government in the county.

He said the tarmacking of the Ibokolo-Shianda-Malaha road at a cost of Sh1.16 billion was in progress, an indication that the Jubilee administration was concerned about the county.

Mr Washiali added that the visit came after the DP received several requests from learning institutions and churches to preside over fundraisers for development projects.
