Deputy President William Ruto has laughed off Nasa’s claim of marshalling 10 million votes in the upcoming General Election, saying the Opposition cannot do it.

Addressing Narok residents yesterday, the Deputy President said the Nasa leaders were only playing with the psychology of Kenyans by declaring “fictitious” figures.

WISHFUL THINKING
According to him the Opposition was using the imaginary figure to give their supporters false hope that they would clinch the presidency.

Mr Ruto said Jubilee Party had eaten into what was perceived to be the Opposition’s strongholds.

“That is wishful thinking and lying to their supporters,” Mr Ruto said at Aitong grounds where he received several ODM leaders, among them Mr Francis Nkoitoi, who ditched the ODM party for Jubilee.

DEFECTIONS
Narok Governor Samuel Tunai said ODM was losing support in the county following the defection of its key leaders.

“I want to say without any fear or contradiction that matters pertaining to ODM are no more in this county after leaders who were the party’s pillar are now with us in Jubilee,” Mr Tunai said.

Mr Nkoitoi said he and some of his colleagues decided to defect from ODM because it had nothing new to offer the Maasai community and Kenyans in general.
