First Lady Margaret Kenyatta has urged Kenyans to help her accomplish her dream of securing maternal health in the country by re-electing President Uhuru Kenyatta.

She praised women for supporting her initiatives to improve Kenyans’ lives.

Speaking at Narok County Stadium where she met women from Rift Valley counties, the First Lady said women and children occupy a special place in her heart and it will be her joy to see more benefit from different projects under her office.

“Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee government have fulfilled most of their 2013 promises.

"I can confirm the President is committed to transforming the lives of Kenyans, you vote for him and we will continue with what we have started together,” she said.

RE-ELECT
Mrs Kenyatta urged women to come out in large numbers and vote for the President and his Deputy William Ruto in the repeat election on October 26.

She was accompanied by Narok Governor Samuel Tunai, Woman Rep Soipan Kudate, nominated MP David Ole Sankok, Bomet Woman Rep Joyce Korir, Bomet East MP and Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organisation national vice-chairperson Beatrice Kones and MYWO chairperson Rahab Mwikali.

“We have kept our resolve, we have kept our faith of transforming this nation. The President and his Deputy have your best interests at heart,” Mrs Kenyatta said.

“We must complete the journey we started a few years ago by voting in President Kenyatta and this time with a wider margin,” she added.

WOMEN, YOUTH
Governor Tunai said the development record Mr Kenyatta had accomplished in less than five years was impressive.

“As Narok people, we have benefited from electricity, the Standard Gauge Railway, roads and free education, so we are proud to support Mr Kenyatta.

"We will teach these people a lesson. Those making noise have been in government and have nothing to show for it,” he said.

Mr Tunai added that the Jubilee government had impacted positively on the lives of women, children, youth and the elderly and more would be achieved if the President got a second term.

CAMPAIGN
The women, drawn from the counties of Bomet, Kericho, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kajiado, Baringo, West Pokot, Narok, Uasin Gishu, Turkana, and Nakuru under the MYWO, promised to support President Kenyatta.

Ms Kudate, who played host, said it was only fair for the women to support President Kenyatta’s bid as a way of repaying the First Lady for her sacrifices for women and children.

“We are making a commitment today that, come the date of the repeat election, we will give another chance to the President and his Deputy,” Ms Kudate said.

MYWO national chairperson Rahab Mwikali said they will conduct door-to-door campaigns for President Kenyatta.
