Ford-Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula has ruled out joint nomination for the National Super Alliance in Bungoma County.

Senator Wetang’ula said the party will field candidates in all elective seats.

He said joint nomination can be considered elsewhere but not in his county, which he considers as his turf.

"Every party will have to field its own candidates in Bungoma County. There is no way we will accept to be disadvantaged in our own home. Let us do it in other areas but not where we command a large following. On this I can’t agree with my fellow principals," he said at a rally in Kabula market, Bumula, on Friday.

He added that he appointed Mr Eseli Simiyu, the party's secretary-general, and Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa to spearhead nomination talks in Nasa.

The coalition comprises ODM, ANC, Wiper and Ford-Kenya.

He noted that his party is very popular in Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Kakamega and Vihiga counties.

Also, ANC Bungoma County secretary Martin Waliaula dismissed joint nomination.

Mr Waliaula noted that the plan will lock out other parties that are considered outsiders.

"ANC is more popular in Bungoma County. A number of aspirants have joined us including our gubernatorial aspirant Mr Stephen Mutoro and Woman representative Kellan Wavomba. We can’t allow any proposal for a joint nomination," he said.
