Former assistant minister Raphael Wanjala on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on ODM leader Raila Odinga, a few days after decamping from Jubilee.

Mr Wanjala, a former Budalang'i MP who was once a fierce ODM and opposition critic, vowed to unseat Labour Party of Kenya (LPK) leader Ababu Namwamba as the area MP.

Mr Namwamba, a former ODM secretary-general, left the party for LPK, citing frustrations.

On Tuesday, Mr Wanjala led a delegation from Budalang'i to meet Mr Odinga at his Capitol Hill offices in Nairobi.

Mr Wanjala said they discussed, among other issues, development projects in the constituency “that will uplift the lives of our people.”

“We also discussed the upcoming general elections and the need to foster unity among candidates vying under Nasa,” he said.
