Jubilee aspirants in Kericho County are now asking the Secretary General Raphael Tuju to improve his management skills or quit, following bungled nominations in 21 counties.
Addressing journalists in various interviews, MPs Joseph Limo (Kipkelion East) and Justice Kemei (Sigowet/Soin), former Roads Minister Franklin Bett and Belgut parliamentary aspirant Nelson Koech accused the party leadership of incompetence.
INSUFFICIENT MATERIALS
The party cancelled the primaries that started on Friday because of irregularities, and fresh dates have been set beginning this coming Monday.
Mr Limo said his constituents, who had turned up in large numbers, had been deeply disturbed by the provision of inadequate voting materials.
“The party leadership must engage in consultations. We paid all our fees and the party should have reciprocated by providing the required number of polling materials.
"Mr Tuju should wake up and do his work and if he cannot, we should find other people who can do it better,” he said.
BOGUS EXERCISE
Mr Limo and Mr Kemei were accused by their opponents of plotting to hide some ballot papers to use in rigging.
Fortunately, they were absolved after Mr Tuju owned up to delivering half the number of required ballot papers to every constituency, with the expectation that the turnout would not exceed 50 per cent of the registered voters.
On his part, Mr Bett said the nomination exercise was a sham and accused the party of having failed to invest sufficiently in the activity.
Mr Koech called on Kericho residents to be peaceful and said that his campaigns are scrupulously done.
