Jubilee parties to merge in December

Jubilee-affiliated parties are set to merge in December to form the Jubilee Party, through which President Uhuru Kenyatta will vie for the presidency in 2017

Speaking at the end of a meeting by the steering committee that is spearheading the merger, Meru Senator Kiraitu Murungi said nine other committees will work to ensure a smooth transition.

He said there would be various sensitisation forums to be held in counties on the matter.

The steering committee will also meet with politicians, including senators and governors, Mr Murungi said

Mr Murungi is the co-chairman of the steering committee.
