Jubilee planning to scuttle Nasa, Mudavadi claims

Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi has alleged that the Jubilee Party is planning to scuttle the National Super Alliance (Nasa) by creating suspicion among opposition leaders.
Mr Mudavadi claimed Jubilee is using propaganda to cause mistrust among the leaders by labelling some of them moles.
“We know we are under the radar of Jubilee propaganda to steal the thunder of Nasa from us by sowing suspicion amongst us. There are even the ridiculous ones who say Nasa is a Jubilee project,” he said.
He said the Jubilee government should concentrate on the war against corruption instead of trying to divide the opposition.
He said President Uhuru Kenyatta started with good intentions in the war against corruption but lost momentum.
“Uhuru had good intentions but somehow eased off the peddle on the war against corruption, allowing it to spiral completely out of his control and finally gave up. He is now a prisoner of corruption cartels.
“Our role as the opposition is that of whistle-blowers. We don’t have the means and power to contain graft. That power is with the Jubilee government. They have the police, investigators and prosecutors,” he said.
In a statement on Monday, Mr Mudavadi said Nasa will fight corruption if elected in the August elections.
“[The] Jubilee government trading currency is default in the manner in which it never keeps both commitments it makes and its reckless procurement that is laced with corruption. That is what Nasa will inherit, corrupt empty coffers,” Mr Mudavadi said.
