The High Court has ordered a recount and scrutiny of votes in six polling stations in Rongo constituency.

Lady Justice Esther Maina wants a report on the recount seeking to establish if Mr Dalmas Otieno won the seat within 14 days.

Polling stations where the scrutiny will be done include Kanga, Rakwaro, Alila, Minyenya, Rongo Showground and Kangeso primary schools.

The recount will be done on two streams at the first four stations while only stream will be scrutinised at the last two.

Justice Maina issued the order on the fourth day of the hearing of the petition filed by Mr Paul Abuor who has contested Mr Otieno’s victory.

Both parties concluded summoning their witnesses on Thursday.

The last witness in the dock was the Returning Officer Noah Bowen, who admitted that although there were irregularities in the tallying, they were minor and could not have any bearing on the outcome.
