Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has denied claims he produced forged documents in his case against Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu saying the contents were similar to Mr Waititu’s earlier statement.

Mr Kabogo said the Certificate of Primary Education which he produced was consistent with Mr Waititu’s earlier claims that he attended Mbagathi Primary School.

“Mr Waititu had on Churchill Live (a programme which airs on NTV) sometimes in 2013 stated that he attended Mbagathi Primary School. I produced the certificate in good faith among other documents that had been forwarded to me,” said Mr Kabogo in his court papers.

He added that he was only interested in safeguarding the integrity of those that hold degrees from Panjab University, himself included.

Mr Kabogo has challenged the validity of the university degree certificate held by Mr Waititu, who has expressed interest in running for the Kiambu governor’s seat. The candidates seeking governorship are required to have a degree.

“It behoves me to clear the air about the integrity of the degrees acquired from Panjab University,” Mr Kabogo said in his court papers.
The governor said that some of the exhibits he had produced in court were sent to his office by an anonymous person in June 2015.
