Kajiado seat is our target, says TNA

  1. TNA Secretary-General Onyango Oloo Tuesday told the Nation that his party did not wish to spread itself thin by struggling to recapture two seats from the ODM.

President Kenyatta’s party, The National Alliance, is unlikely to field a candidate in the Homa Bay senatorial by-election.

Instead, it will try to capture the Kajiado parliamentary seat from ODM. The seat will become vacant once the Orange party’s Joseph Nkaissery, who was approved to be the new Interior Cabinet Secretary, resigns from it.

EXPRESSED INTEREST

He said a committee had been formed to scrutinise five people who had expressed interest in carrying the TNA flag in Homa Bay.

He said TNA, being a ruling party, would not present a candidate for the sake of it.

“We are only looking at the possibility of having candidate that is veritable, viable and can be trusted to hold high the flag of the ruling party,”

Mr Oloo said in Kisumu. “If they are capable, we will offer a candidate. If not, we will concentrate our efforts in Kajiado.”
