Go for top seat, Kalonzo Musyoka urged

Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana wants Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to go for the presidency in 2017.

Speaking in Machakos on Sunday, Prof Kibwana said he hoped Cord leader Raila Odinga would support Mr Musyoka.

“There is a pact you made with Raila. At one time you said Raila tosha. We are hoping that Raila would say Kalonzo and Wetang’ula tosha,” said Governor Kibwana.

Mr Moses Wetang’ula is a Cord co-principal and the Ford-Kenya leader.

Prof Kibwana said although he is not a member of Wiper Party, he believes that Mr Musyoka is the best bet for the top seat as he had proved to be a man of integrity.

The governor said he would talk to his Muungano Party members to form a coalition with Wiper.

“I am going to talk to the people. We do not want fragmentation. We want one big force,” said Prof Kibwana.

Mr Musyoka called for Akamba unity in order to have a formidable force in the 2017 elections.

Speaking at the Redeemed Gospel Church in Machakos, Mr Musyoka proposed a meeting of religious and political leaders from the region in a bid to sort out issues that are dividing politicians.

“I am proposing a meeting to sort out our small issues. I want to lead Kenya and not Ukambani.

“We need prayers because as a people, divided we cannot stand,” he said.

Mr Musyoka urged the people to have faith in his leadership. He said although there would be a lot of distortion, there is work to be done and strategies to be laid out in order to clinch the presidency.

The Wiper leader said as a community, it is was time for them to forgive and to forge ahead.
