MATERIALS ARRIVED LATE

She beat Ms Monica Kakuko Kalinyogar (5898), Ms Night Cherop (3028) and Ms Hellen Cherotich Loripo (2680).

Nominations were not done for Kacheliba and Kapenguria parliamentary seats after election materials arrived late and the party rescheduled to Tuesday next week.

The area Senator John Lonyangapuo and former Cabinet Minister Samuel Poghisio were awarded direct tickets for governor and senator respectively after they failed to get any competitor.

The nominations were completed without any problem unlike the chaos witnessed in the Jubilee nominations.

PRESENTED CERTIFICATES

Speaking on Saturday when they were presented certificates at the Kanu offices in Kapenguria, Kanu leaders asked Jubilee party to borrow a leaf from the independence party on how to conduct successful primaries.

“We don’t need to shed blood to elect credible leaders. Jubilee has ashamed the country and the President. They need to come and learn from the independence party before holding the rescheduled primaries,” he said.

However, the leaders said that they still support the president’ re-election.

“Kanu still supports the President re-election bid despite the chaos witnessed. The mess witnessed cannot force us to change our stand,” said Prof Lonyangapuo.
