National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso has defended Leader of Majority Aden Duale following calls that he resigns over recent Garissa terrorists attack.

She said those calling for Mr Duale’s resignation were doing so out of “emotions.”

“We all feel the pain of losing our people but I urge leaders to be guarded and rational when making statements especially at this time when emotions are still high among Kenyans,” she said.

She said the Garissa Township MP was still the Majority Leader.

She said it is not be easy to remove leaders in Parliament from their positions since they were all elected to their current positions by MPs.

A section of Jubilee MPs on Thursday asked Mr Duale to step aside if he does not present a list of terrorism sympathisers he promised a week ago.

Ms Laboso was speaking in Kericho after addressing the Kenya Primary Schools heads Association Nakuru Chapter conference.
