For the second consecutive day, ODM nominee for Homa Bay senatorial by-election Moses Kajwang’ received a hostile reception during his introductory tour of the county.

On Monday, irate youths chanting pro-Caroli Omondi slogans confronted the team that included ODM National Chairman John Mbadi, Homa Bay Women Rep Gladys Wanga and MPs Peter Kaluma (Homa Bay Town) and Joseph Magwanga (Kasipul) at Nyandiwa market in Suba.

Mr Kajwang’s entourage also bypassed Sindo market where some youths were said to have brought down a tent that had been erected for the rally.

Instead, they drove straight to Mbita Town where they were expected to hold their last rally.

The team also bypassed Homa Bay Town where a group of youths were said to be planning to disrupt their tour.

ODM has accused Jubilee of funding youths to perpetrate violence during the mini poll.

Party secretary for political affairs Opiyo Wandayi on Monday claimed that the Sunday attack was planned and executed to make the party look like a violent outfit.

“That was not an act of political dissent or rebellion but a criminal act perpetrated by people who were organised, funded and instructed to disrupt our tour,” he told reporters in Kisumu.

However, TNA secretary-general Onyango Oloo dismissed the claims, saying from its inception, the Orange party has been known for violence, hooliganism and disorder.
