ODM Secretary-General Ababu Namwamba and Funyula MP Paul Otuoma have agreed to work together for the benefit of the party.

Speaking at Bumbe Beach during Samia Cultural Day on Friday, the two said party officials must join hands to wrestle leadership of the country from Jubilee.

“I have no problem with my brother Ababu. I was with another team but that does not mean we are enemies,” Dr Otuoma said.

He maintained that ODM must put in place structures that would ensure internal democracy thrived.

Dr Otuoma said he offered himself for the position of ODM chairman because the party faced many challenges and he wanted to correct the mess.

Mr Namwamba said ODM was working to find a solution to nominations.

He said party primaries had remained a serious issue.

NO DIFFERENCES

“It is our duty to find a lasting solution to party primaries and gain confidence from Kenyans by conducting credible elections,” he said.

The Budalang’i lawmaker added that their main objective was to strengthen the party before the next elections.

Mr Namwamba told the gathering that there had never been any difference between him and Dr Otuoma.

“I have worked with my brother will continue doing so,” he said.
