Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua on Wednesday dismissed as false a claim by the coalition National Super Alliance (Nasa) that is control 10 million voters countrywide.

Ms Karua, who is vying for Kirinyaga governor, said Jubilee under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta has majority support across Kenya and will triumph in the August elections.

"Jubilee will definitely defeat Nasa during the elections," she said at St Michael Primary School in Kerugoya town during a meeting between local aspirants and officials of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

RIDICULOUS

"Kenyans have not gone to polls and it is ridiculous for Nasa to claim that it has the support of 10 million voters. They are panicking and that is why they are peddling false claims," said Ms Karua.

The fierce politician reiterated that her party has endorsed President Kenyatta for re-election.

"We as Narc Kenya have thrown our weight behind President Kenyatta and we are confident that he shall emerge the winner," she said.

Ms Karua called on all aspirants from the region to embrace mature campaigns free of violence.

DREAMING

Kirinyaga County Governor Joseph Ndathi shared the same sentiments.

Mr Ndathi, who will be defending his seat as an independent candidate, said the opposition is day-dreaming. "Nasa can't beat Jubilee in fair elections," he said.

Speaking at the same event, Mr Ndathi said he decided to contest as an independent candidate after he was rigged out during the Jubilee party nominations.

"The Jubilee primaries were marked with irregularities. Some ballot papers were found dumped on the road reserves while most of my supporters were locked out of the nominations," he said.
