Former Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu defended her new found political unity with Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka as a valuable joint push for the Kamba community’s stake in national politics.

Mrs Ngilu, Narc leader, said the 2013 General Election was a political tragedy for the Kamba community as the two senior most politicians were both defeated at the ballot, despite being on different sides of the political divide.

“We may have differed with Kalonzo before, but for the first time since independence, the Kamba community doesn’t have a strong voice at the Cabinet level or sufficient representation in top government positions,” she said Sunday.

The Narc party leader dismissed those opposed to their new found unity as misguided people, who for many years have fuelled and benefited from their long standing political differences.

The former CS, who is gunning for Kitui's governorship position, said she is hopeful the National Super Alliance will form the next government.
