Ngunyi’s ‘tribal’ claim probe put off

The cohesion commission on Tuesday postponed the interrogation of a political analyst accused of making tribal remarks on social media.

Mr Mutahi Ngunyi appeared before the National Cohesion and Integration Commission after he was summoned on Monday, but asked for more time to prepare his statement.

Commission boss Hassan Sheikh Mohamed told Nation that Mr Ngunyi will present his statement before the commission on Thursday.

“He said he had just arrived from a long and tiring trip. We allowed him to come back on Thursday,” Mr Mohamed said by phone.
The “tyranny of numbers” political analyst was accused of hate-speech in posts on Twitter.
Some of his tweets said that Raila should be put on trial. The Luo Nation must liberate itself from the bondage of Odingaism and the Luo nation is spell bound by Raila.
Last week, Mr Ngunyi apologised on Twitter and in a TV interview but the Law Society of Kenya asked the commission to investigate him.
