What you need to know:

  • The MPs want Auditor General Edward Ouko to audit the alleged money printing deal.
  • The MPs made the claims while addressing youth in Narok.

Two ODM MPs have claimed that the government is printing extra money to bribe voters ahead of next year’s polls.

ODM chairman John Mbadi and Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang made the claims in Narok on Friday where they were addressing local youth.

The two, speaking at the youth conference, demanded that the Auditor-General Edward Ouko carries out an immediate audit of the alleged money printing deal claiming British currency printer, Dela La Rue and the Central Bank of Kenya are involved.

“Already the paper money is in circulation and it is being dished out to MPs, including those going to State House to pledge support to the president in the next General Elections,” Mr Kajwang said.

They claimed the Jubilee has set aside Sh100 million for every constituency whose MP accepts to support it.

“We know this because already some of our colleagues whom we know very well have received down payments,” Mr Mbadi said.
