The Orange Democratic Movement will audit the financial management of all governors elected on the party ticket, secretary-general Ababu Namwamba has said.

He said the move was aimed at ensuring transparency in the use of resources allocated to the counties.

The Budalang’i MP said Cord was keen to take over the leadership of the country and did not want the issue of lack of accountability in the counties to derail its bid.

“We shall be asked about accountability. As a coalition, we must set a good example,” he said.

The MP was speaking when he issued Constituency Development Fund cheques in Budalang’i on Saturday.

He said the party would send a team to probe the Kilifi County Government, which he said had a problem.

“We have received a report from Kisumu. Soon you will see members of the county assemblies being taken to court,” said Mr Namwamba.

“We shall scrutinise other counties too. Busia is also on the list,” he said.
