Officials of the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (Nock) have sued Sports Cabinet Secretary Hassan Wario over his decision to disband the body.

Nock chairman Kipchoge Keino, Secretary-General Francis Kinyiri and Treasurer Fridah Shiroyah want the August 25 decision quashed.

They claim it is unlawful, against fair administrative action and was made in bad faith.

In disbanding Nock, Mr Wario had said his decision was made in the public interest.

However, the three officials claim that he does not have powers under the Sports Act to unilaterally disband Nock or any other federation.

They accuse the minister of frustrating their legitimate expectation of him in respect to fair administrative treatment.

They claim he has embarked on an unreasonable campaign of harassing them through an unnecessary use of police and security mechanisms so as to unlawfully cripple the affairs and administration of Nock.
