Two MPs from Kakamega have asked Cord principals Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka to provide the anti-corruption commission with evidence to back allegations against Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru.

Emannuel Wangwe (Navakholo) and Ayub Savula (Lugari) said Mr Odinga and Mr Musyoka should know better the existing legal channels that should be followed in dealing with the matter as opposed to criticising the CS at every public meeting.

They spoke during a fundraiser at Chekalini High School in Lugari Constituency on Saturday.

“Mr Kalonzo is a respected lawyer in this country and we expected him to compile all the evidence they have and visit the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission so that Ms Waiguru could be investigated based on that information. It is unfortunate that both have resorted to criticising Ms Waiguru in public,” said Mr Wangwe.

According to Mr Savula, the Opposition has no reason to accuse President Uhuru Kenyatta of protecting Ms Waiguru when there is no tangible evidence of any wrongdoing by the CS.

“If there is a sin Ms Waiguru has committed, it is to roll out a programme geared towards creating jobs for our youths,” he said.
