  • Deputy Speaker Kembi Gitura adjourned the House for an hour to allow the senators to familiarise themselves with the list.
  • Some of the officials named on the list have stepped aside to allow for investigations into allegations against them.

The list with the names of Cabinet secretaries, principal secretaries, heads of parastatals and other public officers being investigated over corruption has been tabled before the Senate.

The list was tabled on Tuesday morning, but some opposition senators questioned why the report was not gazetted before being debated in the house as required by the law.

Deputy Speaker Kembi Gitura overruled the objection and adjourned the House for an hour to allow the senators to familiarise themselves with the list.

President Uhuru Kenyatta handed the list to the National Assembly last Thursday during his State of the Nation address.

Some of the officials named on the list have stepped aside to allow for investigations into allegations against them.
