There was drama at Naromoru town in Kieni Constituency as supporters of Kieni MP Kanini Kega engaged in war of words with those of his rival Mr Wainaina Njoroge as they awaited the arrival of President Uhuru Kenyatta who is on a tour of the Central region.

Mr Kega was met with his supporters by songs and a few minutes later, Mr Wainaina walked and was also cheered by another band of supporters.

Later on when the President arrived, matters had cooled down. President Kenyatta asked central Kenya leaders to stop infighting, reminding them that the government had allocated cash to build dams and repair roads in Kieni Constituency.

On a lighter note, the President asked to meet the local old man made famous for his loud and prolonged laughter on TV.

The man is reported to have received a cash reward from some members in the President's entourage.
