Stop inciting Kenyans, Uhuru tells Raila

President Uhuru Kenyatta has accused opposition leader Raila Odinga of inciting Kenyans to violence.

He said the opposition leader was treading on the same path he followed when ethnic violence occurred after the 2007 elections.

President Kenyatta spoke in Sigor in Bomet County, the hometown of Governor Isaac Ruto, who is also one of the National Super Alliance principals.

He expressed concern that the opposition leader's remarks might harm the unity existing between different communities in the country.

“Yesterday, he was talking about “wenye inchi and wenye wanafaa kurudi kwao” (those who own land and those who should return to where they came from) and that is the same language he used to create conflict the last time,” said the President on Friday.

The Head of State urged Bomet residents to reject Governor Ruto in the forthcoming elections, saying he had joined the opposition that he claimed does not care about their interests.

“Show him that he cannot take us back to where we came from,” said the President, who was accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto, Bomet Jubilee gubernatorial candidate Joyce Laboso and other leaders.
