President Uhuru Kenyatta Wednesday urged opposition leaders to learn to be civilised in competitive politics.
He said nothing warranted a politician to use foul language every other day.

“Go back to school and learn to be civilised human beings,” said the President when he addressed a huge gathering at Katulu Primary school in Matungulu Constituency, Machakos County.

He was cheered when he said foul-mouthed politicians should take advantage of schools that are now connected to electricity and get themselves some education.

“Kenyans want kazi mashinani and not the other things they talk about,” said the president.

Deputy President William Ruto said the Jubilee Government would not be distracted from its development agenda.

RESPECTS ALL LEADERS

The DP said the Jubilee Government respected all elected leaders and would work with all irrespective of their political parties.

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua said he would continue working with the National Government to develop his county.

He said Kenyans want development and his politics was based on progress for the people.

Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana said: “Kenyans want maendeleo mashinani and this is the way to go”. He also asked the president to extend his support to Makueni and Kitui counties like he had done with Governor Mutua.

Governor Kibwana said the region would not blindly follow a particular community to ascend to power but would pursue the path of development.
