President Uhuru Kenyatta has asked his supporters to ensure they turnout in large numbers on Election Day so that he can beat his rival, Raila Odinga by a huge margin.

He said beating the opposition by many votes was the only way to politically silence them alleging that they are plotting to join the government through power-sharing.

The Head of State, who spoke in his Kiambu backyard pleaded with his supporters, especially in his strongholds, not to fail him saying they should make sure all registers voters, including the sick and the elderly vote.

TRUMPET

President Kenyatta, who was accompanied by his Deputy William Ruto and Jubilee candidates in the county, said he was sure that he has beaten the National Super Alliance flag-bearer but want a bigger margin than in the 2013 elections.

“The other time (2013), we beat him with a difference of eight thousands votes only. And because we have beaten him (again), this time round, next week, we want to defeat him with a margin of five million votes.

“Therefore, lets turn out in large numbers. The young people, please blow the trumpet (to wake people up to go and vote) and please people of Kiambu, don’t fail me…promise me that you will not fail me,” President Kenyatta said at Kirigiti Stadium on Friday.

RADIO STATIONS

The President said Mr Odinga has a tendency of crying foul in every election, by claiming that he has been rigged, but said the only remedy is to ensure all Jubilee supporters cast their votes.

Earlier, the Jubilee flag bearer was hosted at different radio stations, among them all the vernacular stations.

President Kenyatta said that the opposition has never been ready for the elections and that their rigging claims was an indication that they are unprepared.

“They want to create confusion in order to take us back to 2007 by claiming that the election was not free and fair so that we can share government, and that’s why I am telling our people that there is a game being played, and so we should turn out in large numbers so that we can beat him squarely so that his mission can fail,” he said.

The reiterated that is defeated, he will hand over power peacefully like he did in 2002 when he lost to former President Mwai Kibaki.
