We will win Kajiado seat, says Jubilee

Jubilee Alliance Party Wednesday said the party will launch a marathon campaign to win the Kajiado Central seat.
Chairman Nelson Dzuiya said the seat was theirs to win.

“We have the strongest of all the candidates and we know we shall emerge victorious against our opponents. We appeal to the people of Kajiado Central to allow peaceful campaigns even as it is obvious we are winning,” Mr Dzuiya said.

Jubilee candidate’s, Mr Patrick Tutui, yesterday received the nomination certificate and said: “Although JAP is a small and young political party, it has conducted one of the most transparent political nomination I have ever seen”.

DITCHED JUBILEE

Mr Tutui’s main opponent, Mr Memusi Kanchory, ditched Jubilee for ODM and said the results were doctored.

But interim secretary-general Veronica Nduati said the party primaries held on Saturday last week were free and fair.

“It is untrue to claim that the results used to declare Mr Tutui the winner in the primaries were doctored, “Ms Nduati said.

According to a party tallying report, a total of 25,256 votes were validly counted, accounting for 64 per cent of the 39,545 registered voters in the constituency.

Mr Tutui got 10,502 votes against Mr Kanchory’s 8,848.
