Traffic head drives car into ditch

Traffic Police Commandant Charlton Mureithi was on Sunday night involved in an accident on Ojijo Road in Parklands, Nairobi.

CID officers on patrol found the police boss, who was not injured, alone stuck in his car, which had landed in a ditch near Parklands Sports Club.

He was driven in his car to the nearby Parklands Police Station and then taken to his house in Spring Valley.

A senior officer in the Traffic Department said the vehicle had landed in a drainage channel that was under construction.

“The commandant was not injured, although the vehicle was slightly damaged on the left side,” the officer said.
