Balala worked hard, but no one sacked Muslims

The axing of Mr Najib Balala from the Tourism docket in this week’s Cabinet reshuffle is not a victimisation of Muslims as the former minister has portrayed.
To be sure, Mr Balala has performed exceptionally well in the docket as indicated by high tourist arrivals.
In my opinion, it was just a sacrifice for falling out with ODM party leader Raila Odinga.
This is not a good signal Mr Balala is sending by publicly stating that Mr Odinga has lost the Muslim vote.
It could be even better for him to talk of the Coast block vote rather than hide behind Muslims.
The Constitution clearly stipulates that Kenya has no State religion.
Therefore, let us think of Kenya as a country and not divide her along tribal and religious orientation.
It should be considered the Coast region has had a fair share of issues in the wake of the Mombasa Republican Council.
Coast leaders should focus their energies on resolving this.
That the Prime minister immediately went to the Coast to the launch a kitty for the poor, in which households will be getting monthly stipends, is good, but why immediately after Mr Balala was dropped?

Nearly all Kenyans, including Mr Raila Odinga, know that Mr Najib Balala has been a good performer.
But surely he should stop dragging the whole saga to the Kenyan Muslim fraternity.
I believe Kenyan Muslims have also not benefited simply because Mr Balala has been a minister for all these years.
Muslim preachers should keep off this is a political fight between the premier and Mr Balala, since it has got nothing to do with the Muslims.
